About Hunger in the Lowcountry

In Hilton Head and Bluffton, more than six soup kitchens provide meals to people each week. These soup kitchens are supported by faith communities and organizations such as “Second Helpings”.

In the three Hilton Head public elementary schools, more than 50% of the students qualify for free or reduced price lunch at school.
